Anne Bennett was born into a large Irish family based in Birmingham, where she grew up, raised her own family and taught for many years. Poor health forced her to give up her career, but she refused to give in to illness. Moving to Wales, she fulfilled her long-held ambition to write, and has established herself as a successful writer of sagas.
`The beauty of Anne's books is that they are about normal people and are sewn through with the human emotions which affect us all.' Birmingham Post
