work appeared in Harper's, the New York Times Book Review, and
Saturday Review. He lived in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

JAMES A. MACKAY (1919-2004) served six terms in the Georgia
legislature and one term in the U.S. Congress. After retiring from
his law practice, he lived in Rising Fawn, Georgia.
