About the Author

Emmett Smelser's nearly 40 years as a reporter, editor and publisher of Midwestern newspapers afforded him a wealth of stranger-than-fiction crimes and characters from which to draw fictional scenarios. This is his third novel derived from those true-to-life experiences. With an MA in journalism and a BA in English, he has shared his knowledge and experience as an adjunct instructor in journalism at five colleges and universities. He now resides in southern Arizona with his wife Carol and golden retriever Sun.
