About the Author

ISTVAN SZENT-MIKLOSY came to the United States in 1957 and received his Ph.D. in international relations and U.S. foreign policy from Columbia University in 1962. He taught for eighteen years at Queens College of the City University of New York, with a specialty in the Atlantic region. He ended his teaching career after spending six years at Columbia University, ultimately as a Visiting Scholar.
