Here, the French-Canadian siren strips away the layers of her divahood in favor of scaled-down pop/rock productions where she fronts a small band of players (hence the album's title). To be sure, it's not exactly the Rolling Stones; the velvet glove that the band gives these tunes suggests mid-1980s Bryan Ferry more than anything.
