Alongside her harp, Ogden, Canadian singer and songwriter Emilie Kahn makes her full-length solo debut with the pixie-ish 10 000. Showcasing her agile, highly melodic indie folk and girlish vocal quality, the album may bring to mind another harp specialist, Joanna Newsome, though Kahn's arrangements, which often include drums and guitar, move her out of the parlor and into the indie clubs. It's still a delicate affair, though, and poetic, too, with lyrics that broach the personal, environmental, and supernatural. ~ Marcy Donelson
