  • The first proper studio album by Eric Lowen and Dan Navarro in over six years, All the Time in the World picks up pretty much exactly where its predecessors left off. Although a few songs, most notably "How Mighty Is the Silence" and the title track, seem to reference Lowen's intervening health problems (he's been diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease), most of the record consists of straightforward love songs like "Cold Outside" and "Compass Point." A particular high point is "Green-Haired Girl," which sounds like one of Don Dixon's lost classics of Southern-fried power pop. Prior to that joyous ending track, the preceding 13 tracks occasionally fall into the duo's persistent problems with pacing, tempo, and arrangement (that is, an occasionally frustrating lack of variety in all three), but taken individually, it's hard to fault the craft of these largely acoustic, rootsy pop songs. ~ Stewart Mason
Professional Reviews
Dirty Linen (p.51) - "Lowen & Navarro straddle the fence between folk and pop. Their edgy voices comfortably collide with pristine sounds."
