Performer Notes
  • A companion piece to popular British satirist/comedian Dom Joly's show of the same name, World Shut Your Mouth is as eclectic as one would imagine the soundtrack to a prank-based reality show from the creator of Trigger Happy TV could be. Compiled by Joly himself, the play list reads and plays like a music nerd with friends in the popular circle. Beginning with the Julian Cope track that serves as the show's namesake, Joly revisits Britpop classics from Tricky ("Abbadon Fat Track") to Ian Brown ("F.E.A.R."), throws in a Proclaimers ballad ("Sunshine on Leith"), digs up some Sabbath ("Changes"), and then throws a Scott Walker Jacques Brel cover ("My Death") over the credits. All in all it makes for a pretty good listen, something that's easier said than done when talking about television soundtracks. ~ James Christopher Monger
