Carthy and his pal John Kirkpatrick left a two-year stint in the folk-rock group Steeleye Span in 1978, then teamed up again for this album. Wonderful, brassy arrangements feature trumpeter Howard Evans and predict Carthy's work with Brass Monkey. ~ Steve Winick
