The under-appreciated tenor saxophonist Lynn Hope was popular throughout the 1950s with his combination of no-frills instrumental recreations of standards like "September Song" and "Summertime" and energetic jump blues numbers. This best-of displays both sides of Hope's musical character, featuring standards like "Blue Moon," "She's Funny That Way," and his best-known recording, "Tenderly," alongside dance sides like "Swing Train," "Hop, Skip and Jump," and "C Jam Blues."
