Blues guitarist Byther Smith has been a fixture on the Chicago scene since the 1950s, backing the likes of Junior Wells and Otis Rush. When Smith began releasing solo albums in the 1980s, blues aficionados were treated to the real deal: Smith's s tough, uncompromising approach to the blues is pure, vintage Chicago. BLUES ON THE MOON is a live date, recorded at the Natural Rhythm Social Club on Chicago's South Side, and proves that Smith's music hasn't lost any muscle with age. Be prepared for a guitar-fueled, old-school blues beat down.
