Recorded in May of 2013, The Brandenburg Concert showcases Yugoslavia-born jazz trumpeter Dusko Goykovich performing live at Germany's Brandenburger Theater backed by the Brandenburg Orchestra. Rather than play timeworn standards, here Goykovich plays all of his own compositions. This is a lush, swinging orchestral jazz album in the tradition of Miles Davis' recordings with Gil Evans. ~ Matt Collar
