  • On his first album in six years, frequent Greg Brown sidekick Dave Moore delivers a terrific 10-song set that's bound to appeal to much the same audience Brown reaches. Moore has everything going for him here-warm, expressive vocals; great backup; a fine, understated production by Brown guitarist/producer Bo Ramsey; and, last but not least, a diverse collection of introspective homespun material. On songs like "Big Drafty House," and "Painting This Room," Moore displays the rare ability to convey old, universal feelings in new and highly personal ways. He manages to be different and clever without ever lapsing into pretension or cliches. ~ Jeff Burger
