Like the synchronously released "Disco Edition" of The Chic Organization: Up All Night, this "Greatest Hits" edition of similar length and look was coordinated to capitalize on Nile Rodgers' success with Daft Punk's smash hit "Get Lucky" and parent album Random Access Memories. The two double-disc volumes also filled something of a void; only a four-disc Warner France box set (The Chic Organization Box Set, released in 2010) had anthologized Chic while gathering a heap of outside productions from the group and leader Rodgers. All of Chic's major hits are presented in full or 12" form here, including the Top Ten U.S. pop hits "Dance, Dance, Dance (Yowsah, Yowsah, Yowsah)," "Le Freak," "I Want Your Love," and "Good Times." Additionally, there are hits and notable deeper cuts from Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, Sheila & B Devotion, Carly Simon, Norma Jean Wright, and Debbie Harry. Twenty of its songs are also on the Disco Edition. The five songs that do not overlap: Sister Sledge's "Thinking of You" and the 12" mixes of Norma Jean Wright's "High Society," Sister Sledge's "Reach Your Peak," Chic's "Soup for One," and Harry's "Backfired." ~ Andy Kellman
