During their decade recording music together, brothers Ira and Charlie Louvin penned many classic songs that would resonate in country music for decades to come, several becoming true classics. The Kentucky duo's close harmony singing and mix of gospel, murder ballads, and songs about country life paved the way for acts like the Everly Brothers and Johnny Cash. Collected here on this six-disc set from Enlightenment Records are their complete recorded works, with all 12 of their studio albums, including classics like Tragic Songs of Life and Satan Is Real. Although they would part ways in 1963 with Ira dying in a car accident just two years later, their work together in the 1950s remains some of the most influential the country, folk, and bluegrass genres. ~ Timothy Monger
