By the early 1970's, George Duke was already established as an ace accompanist, playing keyboards for Jean-Luc Ponty, Cannonball Adderley, and Frank Zappa, but 1974's FEEL illustrated Duke coming into his own as a leader. FEEL is eclectic yet focused--an (early) fusion of jazz, rock, funk, and Brazilian elements--distinguished by Duke's heartfelt falsetto singing, clever, dynamic compositions, and soaring electronic keyboards. This set also contains beautiful contributions from Brazilian singer Flora Purim and blistering guitar by Zappa himself.
