Despite their name, this threesome--three Brazilians in a jazz piano trio configuration--is actually based in the USA, but their music is still Brazilian through and through. While schooled in improvisation (the influence of Bill Evans is especially present), they are equally devoted to the samba, bossa nova, and jazz of their homeland. FORESTS presents a fusion of these approaches, where lush Brazilian melodies and sultry rhythms commingle with open-ended, lyrical, and swinging interpretations. FORESTS will appeal to those who thrill to both acoustic jazz and Brazilian styles.
