  • Singer-songwriter Gavin Degraw released his third album, FREE, a mere year after his self-titled sophomore release. But rather than feeling rushed and incomplete, FREE lives up to its title by delivering a batch of songs that show Degraw at his most relaxed and personal. Degraw has a way with a stirring, anthemic chorus ("Stay"), bluesy groovers ("Lover Be Strong"), and shimmering confessionals (the title track), all of which convey his skillful songcraft and memorable melodies. Stripped of the more polished sound that dominated GAVIN DEGRAW, FREE is a collection of honest, piano-based tunes that should appeal to fans of adult alternative.
