The first entry in Cherry Red's 2011 Ace reissue campaign is a greatest-hits collection naturally titled How Long. Its title is not the only unsurprising thing about How Long: its 16 tracks offer up the expected staples from the pub rockers, bypassing "Rock & Roll Runaway" but hitting "Sniffin' About," "Ain't Gonna Stand for This No More," "You're All That I Need," and "I Think It's Gonna Last." For the casual consumer, the one who only knows "How Long," this is the way to hear the band. For the hardcore, Cherry Red's excellent reissues are a better choice. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
