Four years in the making, this 2007 release from post-rockers Maserati may just as well been created by a new band. Gone are the pretty but lugubrious textures of their earlier releases, replaced by a frenetic, percussive pulse that gleams with sweat. The change is traceable to the addition of Gerhardt Fuchs (LCD Soundsystem, the Juan McLean) on drums. These ambitious eight tracks do indeed signal invention and a new season for the group.
