By the early '80s, radio concert series like the King Biscuit Flower Hour were slipping in popularity, so they adapted with the times. Unusually hip for a show more associated with Foghat and the J. Geils Band, this concert is particularly impressive because it was recorded and originally broadcast in November 1982, nearly a year before The Fixx's commercial breakthrough with the MTV hit singles "One Thing Leads to Another" and "Saved By Zero."
Because it's so early in the band's career, most of the material here comes from their debut, SHUTTERED ROOM, including their first single "Cameras in Paris" and the college radio hits "Red Skies," "Stand or Fall" and "Some People." Several cuts from the yet-to-be-released REACH THE BEACH are also included, notably the title track and a somewhat tentative version of "One Thing Leads to Another."
