On their eighth album, Moral & Wahnsinn, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter follow the more accessible direction of its predecessor Licht, offering few of the grunted and growled vocals of their earlier efforts. The record is slightly darker and heavier than their last one, however, and the band's extreme metal remains as vital as ever, incorporating elements such as Eastern sounds, Spanish guitars, and a trumpet. Moral & Wahnsinn reached number 18 on the German charts, the band's highest chart position so far. The limited edition adds a DVD containing a 45-minute documentary on the band. ~ Christian Genzel
