When it comes to doing what it says on the tin, the Now series rarely fails, so if you're old enough to remember slow load times on the Internet, worldwide fear of the Y2K bug, and rushing home to watch the sitcom Friends, this set is a great reason to dust off your old dancing shoes (which were probably pastel boat shoes or white Adidas trainers). Expected hits like "What Is Love" (Haddaway), "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)" (Rozalla), and "Finally" (Ce Ce Peniston) sit next to lesser-known numbers from the likes of Paul Johnson ("Get Get Down") and Blue Boy ("Remember Me" in its wonderful house remix), with tracks like "Something Good" (Utah Saints) and "Mr. Wendal" (Arrested Development) falling somewhere in the middle. Hard to believe it was Cher who introduced the world to Auto-Tune with her massive hit "Believe," but the proof is right here, along with plenty of evidence that the '90s were much cooler (Underworld, Cornershop), more fun (Real 2 Reel, Shaggy), and more willing to mash genres (Heavy D, Beats International) than most will remember.
