EMI's Huey Lewis & the News Gold Collection includes the hits "Do You Believe in Love" and "Workin' for a Livin'." What it doesn't include is anything off of the multi-platinum smash Sports or its follow-up, Fore. Even though the blues-based riffs and lyrics about "chicks" lack the sheen of their later incarnations, listening to the tenacious pub band's early works is fun -- although every song has a sax solo that belongs over the opening credits of Saturday Night Live. Listeners would do well picking up 1992's The Heart of Rock & Roll: The Best of Huey Lewis & the News or 2000's Greatest instead. ~ James Christopher Monger
