Performer Notes
  • U.K. edition
  • From the Scottish town that brought you the gentle sounds of Belle & Sebastian and Camera Obscura comes a horse (or dog) of an entirely different color. Glaswegian band Dogs Die in Hot Cars sounds like it spent the last several years holed up in a closet with the first four XTC albums, and to fine effect. You can almost see the skinny ties swinging back and forth in front of loud, primary-color suits as the Dogs work their magic, kicking up a fair amount of frenetic rock & roll dust even as they show off their well-schooled pop smarts on their debut album, PLEASE DESCRIBE YOURSELF.

CMJ (p.4) - "[A] revisionist new wave history lesson....Cheeky Craig Macintosh keeps the energy high..."
