The Legendary Pink Dots sound like a genuine post-punk band, and with good reason. They formed in Britain in 1980, the heyday of the style, and have been churning out edgy, experimental music, with dashes of pop and psychedelia, ever since. PLUTONIUM BLONDE (2008) proves the Dots haven't lost their moxie over the years. Veering from tribal guitar noise to goth-fused synth pop to psychedelic folk, PLUTONIUM BLONDE keeps the musical surprises coming in a way that outclasses most latte- day post-punk Johnny-come-latelys.
