Like the others before it, for the 13th compilation in the Punk Goes Pop series (which includes metal, acoustic, crunk, and classic rock), the fifth volume of Punk Goes Pop features artists from the Fearless Records roster doing post-hardcore covers of popular radio songs. This particular one is different from the last in that it spans back to the `80s, with Breathe Carolina's take on the king of pop's "Billie Jean" and the Maine's version of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," the latter being a highlight. However, the focus is on material by artists from 2010 to 2012, resulting in amped-up covers of hits by Gym Class Heroes, Bruno Mars, Gotye, and Kanye West. ~ Jason Lymangrover
