  • It's hard enough for most musicians to avoid the sophomore slump, but when the artist in question is the son of one of music's all-time legends.well, the record better be good. Luckily, Muddy Waters progeny Big Bill Morganfield shows that his initial recorded effort was far from a fluke, with RAMBLIN' MIND delivering a slab of confident, danceable urban blues that does his daddy proud. Possessing a vocal approach and timbre that is sometimes an uncanny ringer for Waters's distinctively clipped style, Big Bill mixes hard Chicago style blues ("Highway 69") with slightly jazzier Mose Allison-style fare ("Mellow Chick Swing") that reveals he is his own (blues) man.
