RE: GENERATIONS pays homage to legendary vocalist Nat King Cole with a series of remixes and unique cover versions by a host of 21st-century pop, rock, R&B, and hip-hop artists. The Roots, TV on the Radio, Nas, will i. am, Just Blaze, and Cee-Lo are only a few of the luminaries to dust off Cole's classic tunes and reinvent them for a new generation. The album's remixes allow listeners to hear Cole's original voice taking part in the proceedings too, most notably on "Straighten Up and Fly Right," on which Natalie Cole duets with her late father. This bold and creative project serves the double purpose of keeping Nat King Cole relevant to the younger generation while proving that his music is timeless.
