Turbonegro beat the odds once again with the 2007 release RETOX. Having already survived 15 years of anything-goes mayhem and having already broken up once, the Norwegian hellions were on a creative tear with their third record since their alleged split. RETOX, as its title suggests, broke no new ground for the sextet, but when you've spent a career distilling the sleaze and humor of all kinds of heavy legends--from the Alice Cooper Band and Bon Scott to the Germs and the Circle Jerks--into one hell-raising guitar riff and one continuously funny premise (that being rock & roll itself) who needs innovation? RETOX will raise your fists and, if you care to even look at the titles, bust your gut to boot.
