For his second album, teen heartthrob Jesse McCartney worked with Kelly Clarkson's producer and co-writer John Shanks. Much like Clarkson's sophomore set, RIGHT WHERE YOU WANT ME is a credibility-boosting collection of fine, soulful pop-rock that shows McCartney to be a better singer (and, on four tracks, songwriter) than many of his Radio Disney peers. Highlights include the Justin Timberlake-like pop-soul of "What They Say" and "We Can Go Anywhere," and the more rock-oriented, Matchbox 20-style "Blow Your Mind."
