A well-chosen grab bag of rockabilly, garage rock, and their unhinged, unholy fusion, psychobilly, ROCKABILLY PSYCHOSIS & THE GARAGE DISEASE picks up the scattered trash of a few decades' worth of outsider rock & roll. Most of the bands represented never had fan bases that would place them above "cult," but some, like the Sonics (with their sizzling "Psycho") and the Gun Club (represented by the swamp-fever blues "Jack on Fire") have managed to assert their place in rock history. Others, however, like Ralph Nielsen & the Chancellors and The Novas, are little known revelations in high-energy, lo-fi madness.
