Elvis Presley defined the later years of his life as a relevant artist by undertaking a phenomenal run of live performances in Las Vegas at the International Hotel beginning in 1969, and he sold the venue out for an astounding 837 shows between 1969 and 1976, offering up marvelous performances that covered the full spectrum of his career. This 14-track set attempts to reproduce a typical Vegas-era Presley show, drawing ten songs from a live recording of a show from August 22, 1969 and adding in performances from other nights, including two songs that were originally included in Presley's 1973 live concert broadcast from Honolulu. The end result is a close-enough audio facsimile of an actual Presley show from the era, and it shows what a compelling and powerful artist Presley was in concert. ~ Steve Leggett
