Sinatra's relaxed, nuanced interpretations of songs like "You Do Something to Me," "Begin the Beguine," and "Cherry Pies Ought to Be You," the latter performed here with Rosemary Clooney, bring out the sharp wit in Porter's lyrics, and the orchestrations lift Porter's songs out of their mannered milieu and into the realms of the swinging, worldly-wise hipster.
