The 2015 John Coltrane concert compilation So Many Things: The European Tour 1961 showcases the legendary jazz saxophonist performing live with his quintet. This was a three-week tour that took Coltrane from France to Denmark, Finland, and Sweden, and found him playing over 30 live dates. While Coltrane did make several live recordings during this period, these specific recordings were culled from local radio broadcasts and personal recordings made by audience members. Some of these bootleg recordings have been available previously, but never remastered and collected into one place as they are here. Joining Coltrane on this tour was his storied ensemble featuring saxophonist Eric Dolphy, pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Reggie Workman, and drummer Elvin Jones. Included here are performances of such classic tunes as "Blue Train," "My Favorite Things," "Impressions," "Naima," and "Delilah." ~ Matt Collar
