  • It's hard to find an ensemble more overwhelming and majestic sounding than the Morman Tabernacle Choir. It's also impossible to find an ensemble with a longer-lived history: the choir has been in existence since 1847. The authority of such history is apparent on the group's 2005 release THEN SINGS MY SOUL.
  • As usual, religious themes are central, with an emphasis on songs of Christian praise and worship, including a version of "The Lord's Prayer." The choice of repertoire is intriguing, however, with a mix of traditional compositions, hymns from the 19th century, and selections from 20th century composers like John Rutter, Thomas Matthews, and Peter Christian Lutkin.
