We Five were 1960s California folk-rockers, best known for their hit version of Ian & Sylvia's "You Were On My Mind." THERE STANDS THE DOOR is surely the definitive anthology of their career, containing not only key tunes from their albums but a wealth of bonus tracks. The group's harmonies and mixture of acoustic picking and rock rhythms represented a sort of halfway point between the commercial folk sound of groups like the Kingston Trio and the more intense, adventurous work of the Byrds and their ilk.
