  • Avid Jazz reissued three classic albums recorded in the '50s by jazz pianist Dave Brubeck, Jazz: Red Hot and Cool, Newport 1958, and Jazz Goes to Junior College, all released on Fantasy in the '50s. This is a great find for Brubeck fans, as this compilation includes the bonus track "St Louis Blues," live at the Timex All-Star Jazz Festival, but casual listeners would be better served by Greatest Hits from the Fantasy Years (1949-1954). ~ Al Campbell
