  • Irish folk-rocker Luka Bloom returns with the typically excellent TRIBE, a fine blend of ruminative meditations and more up-tempo gems. Blending Celtic folk influences with a hint of country and a rock base that recalls Richard Thompson's finest work, Bloom is a reflective lyricist and wonderfully expressive singer. Highlights include the ghostly "I Am A River," which sounds like an outtake from Nick Drake's orchestrated classic BRYTER LAYTER, and the prayerful "Peace Rains."
