Original score composed by Zbigniew Preisner.
Composed by longtime collaborator Zbigniew Preisner (The Secret Garden, Damage), the score for legendary Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski's 1993 film about the soft-spoken wife of a recently deceased classical composer features symphonic choral works by the composer character, as well as longing, piano-centric accompaniment for a grieving widow with secrets and a struggle with identity. Wistful or flamboyant, depending on which character it represents, the music earned Preisner Golden Globe and C?sar nominations and a Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award. It was performed by the Silesian Philharmonic Choir and Warsaw's Sinfonia Varsovia, conducted by Wojciech Michniewski. ~ Marcy Donelson
