After experimenting with melody and exploratory songwriting techniques on 2006's THE DEAD EYE, Sweden's The Haunted lashes out with a back-to-basics, no-frills, post-thrash metal blitzkrieg entitled VERSUS. The album is the quintet's sixth studio release and the third to be produced with Tue Madsen (Kataklysm, Moonspell, Gorefest). VERSUS sees The Haunted strip down to its raw essence: razor-edged riffs, fist-banging hooks, and its inimitable melodic nuance. The band's compositions are dissonant to a fault, entrancing the listener with authentic Gothenburg metal vehemence.
