On WANNA GO BACK, Eddie Money revisits a batch of vintage soul tunes, adding his personal spin while remaining respectful of the songs' original spirit. Walking in the footsteps of Marvin Gaye, Sam & Dave, et al. is no mean feat, and Money doesn't try to reinvent the songs or graft any unnatural arrangements onto them. Backed by a hot-blooded band with a spicy horn section, he tackles "Hold On I'm Comin'," "Higher and Higher" and others with a rocker's energy but a soul man's gravitas.
