This Los Angeles band formed in 1978, sparked by the energy of the glam punk wave. Though they toured excessively in the U.S.A. and Europe, and were infamous for putting on the most outrageous live acts, their time saw them producing only one 7" single and leaving a legacy that has been whispered about in punk rock circles ever since. Chainsaw did make it to the studio, however, and the Rome-based punk archivists Rave Up, by some luck and virtue, ended up with the tapes. This collection contains the tracks from the 7" single, plus nine other unreleased studio tracks and five live tracks, including the staple version of the Stooges "No Fun" and the Lennon/McCartney-penned "Run for Your Life." This LP reissue is essential stuff the '78 punk collector. ~ Skip Jansen
