WINDWARD AWAY is a welcome return for Scottish folk legend Archie Fisher, his first album of all-new material since 1988's SUNSETS I'VE GALLOPED INTO. Fisher's warm, burnished vocals sound as inviting as ever on tunes like "Ontario Dust" and "Bonnie Border Lass," set against simple, unornamented arrangements built on little more than acoustic guitar. WINDWARD AWAY also includes eight never-before-released songs Fisher recorded in 1980 for an album that remained unfinished due to the collapse of his label.
