Performer Notes
  • Man Or Astro-Man?: CoCo The Electronic Monkey Wizard, Star Crunch, Dr. Deleto & His Invisible Vaportron, Birdstuff.
  • Engineer: Jim "I Wonder What It Would Sound Like If We Recorded A Bunch Of Ants Walking Across Aluminum Foil And Then Slowed It Down 1,000 Times" Marrer (all tracks).
  • Recorded at Zero Return Studios, Elmore, Alabama on June 18, 1994.
  • All songs written by Man Or Astroman? except "Destination Venus" (Jo Callis).
  • Liner Note Authors: Tommy Udo; Ben Willmott; Matthew Pardo; Tab Hunter.
  • Recording information: Zero Return, Elmore, AL (06/18/1994).
  • Nothing too out of the ordinary amongst the many releases of Man or Astro-Man?. They still have their trademark theme of cheesy science fiction embedded in hyperactive surf rock. But unlike their later material, Your Weight on the Moon is more down to earth, as if they're concentrating more on their music rather than their gimmick. Not that this is a bad thing, since all the songs have more of a rock & roll feel to them, as if they could be the perfect house band for a Sean Connery-era Bond-in-outer-space movie. A worthwhile album, even if not too much new ground is covered. ~ Mike DaRonco
Professional Reviews
Record Collector (magazine) (p.96) - 4 stars out of 5 -- "'Electrostatic Brain Field,' for example, has as much in common with Dead Kennedys' 'East Bay Ray' as it does Hank Marvin and The Shadows, or, for that matter, Link Wray..."
